Liberty University has announced an eight-year contract extension for Head Football Coach Hugh Freeze, solidifying his position as one of the most highly compensated coaches in the Group of Five. The deal is reportedly worth $65 million annually, a significant increase from his previous contract.
Freeze has emerged as a top coaching talent since taking over at Liberty in 2019, leading the Flames to three bowl games in three seasons. Under his guidance, Liberty has consistently ranked among the top teams in the Group of Five and has challenged Power Five opponents on several occasions.
