Serbian-Born Two-Time Regular Season MVP Now Most Valuable Player in NBA Finals
After notching his latest standout effort of the postseason, Nikola Jokic added another accolade to his resumé: NBA Finals MVP.
Jokic, 28, the Serbian-born two-time regular season MVP, led the Denver Nuggets to the championship he has coveted and was named NBA Finals MVP after the Denver Nuggets' Game 4 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference finals.
Jokic became the second player in NBA history to have at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in a single season, joining Wilt Chamberlain, who accomplished the feat four times.
Jokic averaged 26.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 8.9 assists in the regular season, and his numbers were even more impressive in the playoffs, where he averaged 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists.
