England has secured a convincing 8-wicket victory over Pakistan in the first Test match of the series in Rawalpindi. The match, which took place from December 01 to 05, 2022, saw England dominate the proceedings throughout.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a total of 579 runs in their first innings, with Imam-ul-Haq scoring a century. England responded with a mammoth 657 runs, led by a double century from Ben Duckett. Pakistan's second innings saw them score 268 runs, setting England a target of 160 runs to win.
The English openers, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, put on a solid partnership of 102 runs to set the platform for the chase. Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, Ollie Pope's unbeaten 60 runs guided England to victory with just eight wickets in hand.
