Chariot confirms drilling Anchois ‘main’ appraisal hole

Namibia-focused explorer Chariot has confirmed the drilling of the Anchois-1 Main appraisal hole.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, this follows the completion of drilling of the Anchois-1 sidetrack hole.

The Anchois-1 sidetrack drilling was completed at 4,263 metres measured depth in late June 2023. This was due to a narrower-than-expected oil column in the primary reservoir target.

According to Chariot, the completion of the Anchois-1 Main appraisal hole will provide further data on the extent and quality of the oil accumulation within the Anchois gas and condensate field. The company anticipates an update on the drilling results in due course.

Chariot holds a 35% interest in Central Blocks 1910A&B and 2010A&B, within which the Anchois gas and condensate field is located. Other partners include the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (28.33%), Azimuth Petroleum (22.5%), and Ignitus (14.17%).
